Posted by admin | July 07, 2016

Glasses will always have their place but it certainly seems as though contact lenses are growing in popularity, at least in the UK where new research has revealed that around one in 12 adults now wear lenses.ix per cent from the year before. What’s more, the number of wearers grew by four per cent between 2014 and 2015, and more than 700 million pairs of contact lenses were sold in 2015, Optometry Today reports.

And for the first time in contact lens history, the number of wearers topped four million, with eight per cent of people aged between 15 and 64 opting to wear these instead of spectacles.

Daily disposable lenses appear to be popular, with sales increasing from 150 million in 2014 to reach £164 million last year, while frequent replacement lens sales rose from £91 million to £93 million.

If you do wear contacts, it’s important that you follow good hygiene rules where your lenses are concerned or you could damage your eyes. Keratisis can be caused by dirty lenses, which results in an inflamed cornea, red and itchy eyes, difficulty opening your eyes and blurred or reduced vision.

This is where contact lens cases really come into their own – invest in some today so you can keep your lenses clean and ensure that your eyes continue to be healthy. Being lackadaisical in this regard is certainly not worth compromising your eye health for, after all.
